We recently went here for dinner that turned into take out because we were pressed for time (on our way to the ferry). We tried calling in our take out order on our way to O'Mally's but the phone rang busy the four times that we tried. We arrived at O'Mally's and had a warm & friendly greeting from who I think may be the manager or owner. This older gentleman was so adorable, kind, and sweet the entire time we were there. We mentioned that we were pressed for time because we were on the way to our ferry and that we would probably just do take out. He suggested that we sit at the bar because it would be faster. So, we sat at the bar and the bartender was VERY lackluster. He just didn't seem happy to be there and was definitely not in a rush to help us. We ordered an appetizer and two beers to stay and our burgers to go. Our fried vegetable appetizer was delicious! Broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, and corn fritters. You could tell that the fryer was clean and the veggies were very fresh. I doubt they were frozen. The appetizer came out right away and we had a second round of beers while waiting for the burgers to go. The sweet man from the front of the house said he was going to check on our orders and not to worry because we had plenty of time to still make the ferry. ;) We were starting to get close for time because it was approaching 6:30, and we had been in there for about 45 minutes waiting for our to go order. The bartender mentioned that the guy from the front of the house was in the kitchen making sure that our order is being expedited so we could be on our way. A few minutes later we looked up and there he was with our to go order. We paid and gave the bartender a generous tip (even though his service was BLAH). I think we may have made his night because her perked up after seeing his tip. When we got to the ferry and opened up our burgers, I was kind of disappointed. The meat tasted good but my cheese was YUCK. I ordered the Vermont Cheddar burger and the cheese was more like a sauce that tasted like an odd version of cheez wiz. My fiancee liked his barbecue burger. The fries were soggy and limp - but that may have been because they were in to-go containers for about 20 minutes. I think we would try this place again just to give business to the guy at the front of the house. I can't stress how sweet and helpful he was. Maybe we'll come and try this again when we have more time to sit down and relax.

Get the bunless burger if you're trying to keep it Lo-cal! It's yummy and comes with veggies - I've ordered it every time I've eaten here!

Their burgers are my favorite anywhere! Yum. Great option when you're out on the north fork, coming from the ferry, etc. Definitely check it out.

we went back this past week end and found out new owners we can say we will not be going back the food went down hill first they could not get the order right for the table then we wanted a take out order did not get the order right saw it when we got home.the burgers are much smaller and different cut of beef and the fish sandwich was over cooked and it was frozen fish from a bag. my baked potato was cold sent it back and the service so so.

I really like O'Mallys a lot. Very solid food and they stay open late! You have to respect that. Had the chicks and ribs special one night and it was awesome. Burgers are some of the best I have had!

We have been to this place many times. We like the food and the burgers are really good however they are VERY pricey. We would go a lot more often since there is not much else to choose from out this way but over 50.00 for 2 people eating burgers is just too much.

We have passed by this place so many times going to and coming home from the ferry. Always wanting to stop but it was usually before they opened. Finally we hit right. We stopped for an early dinner and was excited. It was just not good. Corn fritters were overly deep fried nuggets of nothing. Our burgers...I don't care how many tasty topping varieties they have to choose from...if the meat is unseasoned, dry and tasteless, and it was...nothing is going to help that burger. And if you are going to serve a pickle make sure it's at least crunchy and appetizing not some soggy, curled up, limp blah. Cole slaw, ok I can understand it not being homemade, but doctor it up a little, make it tasty for your customers. I can live with the out dated decor, but curled up old place mats and yellowing menus are an easy, inexpensive fix. So stepped it up OMalley's management and pay a little more attention...and it's time to replace that carpet.

Honestly, I have never gotten anything else to eat here except for their hamburgers. I really love O'Malleys hamburgers. I always got what I think they call The Godfather burger which is blue cheese and fried onions.... SO good. I no longer live in the area and do miss O'Malleys very much.

This was my second time at O'Mally's and this time it was a bit of a disappointment. While my burger was very tasty, it was a bit overdone. For the amount of money I paid for a burger ($11.95) with fries, I was hoping it would be better. The onion rings were delicious but the portion size was way too small for $7.95. My barometer for a good burger these days is Shake Shack, 5 Guys or Smashburger. I was wishing there was one closer after the $90 bill (with tip) for 4 entrees, 2 appetizers and a soft drink. I have no complaints about the food, the service or the setting. I just wished my burger were cooked to order and the prices weren't so high, especially when I know I can get the same or higher quality burger for a lot less.

They never failed to screw up my order. The only reason I ever went to the place was because they were the only late night spot around. Desperate times call for desperate measures. The only thing I enjoyed when here was the company I was with.

Went on a Sat. afternoon, place half empty. Waitress very attentive. Food arrived in timely manner. The breads w/olive oil great! The muscles, excellent! The sweet potato fries great. The burger could have been cooked less, more pink inside. The steak tidbits were dry, overcooked, so got a burger instead, better. The horseradish sauce on one of the burgers was so, so.... maybe I'll come back.

It's one of our local choices as we live in the area. Good food can be had for a reasonable price. You can get anything from a burger to a filling meal with good service. Open until late at night, sometimes a little too crowded for me but others might like that. Often there's live one man entertainment.

Great burgers and nice atmosphere. We stopped in for a casual Sunday dinner over labor day weekend. Menu is simple, and the food was good quality. Decent beer list.

Great family place. Nice menu, good food, efficient service. Large selection of burgers, steaks, seafood etc. I have never been disappointed here.

What a great find! Our food was FANTASTIC and the Owners and Staff are very attentive! The BEST Soup on the NOFO BY FAR!!

Feel really bad posting two stars, formerly 4 stars, but we have given this place about 5 "chances" since new ownership and it is not the same or improved. Chili is inconsistent, sometimes spicy, sometimes lots of cinnamon. The burgers taste like cheaper meat. Wish the owner(s), who ever that is, would have introduced themselves, seems like an investment for a Brooklyn entrepreneur restauranteur taking a chance on the Nofo. As a positive, I had the salmon filet on a spinach salad and the salmon was fresh and a generous portion. Also, some of the Greek dishes are new and tasty. Not sure if we will be back.

So sad what this place has become. It used to be great with great service. Now..Food is ok....service is HORRIBLE! asked for water never came. Asked for napkins never came finally got up and served myself. Food took forever, and the place although all new is "dry, dry like toast". The old place as crazt as it looked felt warm and cozy. The new place not so much. I feel bad and wish the new owners luck but i don't think I will be back. Oh and the menu... its hamburgers or chicken sandwiches. The prices were decent!

I was here for a large family affair this past Monday. They had accommodated our request for a lunch event, I think over 50 people, and also the dietary request for courses avoiding meat (fish only). The sheer number of courses was staggering (cold Greek mezze and spanakopita for the table, then soup, salad, and main course for each person, and coffee and anise biscotti to wrap things up). I passed on the salad. main course and dessert just because the rest was so much, more than enough for me. I can say that the spanakopita was tasty, and their Manhattan Clam Chowder is pretty good too. The service was very friendly and hospitable as well. The atmosphere was relatively unremarkable, like a casual steakhouse, but not too bad. Everyone else seemed pretty pleased with their orders - even my husband, who usually can't stand fish, but he liked the salmon filet. The one negative that there appeared to be universal agreement was the cream of mushroom soup, way too rich, everyone said. And it looked it; it was so thick you could eat it as a spread (which some people did to great effect). Especially among the sparse restaurant pickings in the area, O'Mally's is a great choice if you're looking for a casual restaurant with good food.

Cornfriters were awesome. Calamari was crunchy and steak sandwich was great. We came here before it was renovated and after. Great update inside

Had the omally steak with blue cheese cooked rare. The steak was a ny strip and came out medium rare but was very dry and tough. It wasn't completely terrible but far from good with the $28 price. Also why have 2 long island craft beer posters on the wall if your only offering macro beer products?

Stopped in after a lengthy ferry ride back from CT. Happened to be the day after it changed ownership. Apparently it was the same staff and although it's a bit sketchy the food was pretty pricey and pretty good. Burger was 100% on point. Highly recommended. Will definitely stop back in for a burger!

Having been to O'Mallys before I was shocked and disappointed by my experience last night. The recent renovations have erased all of the pub charm. The dining room is now formal but the food is still the same style with higher prices than I remember. It cost the same to eat at a fancy Italian restaurant. I ordered fish tacos which were not fresh and deep fried and my husband ordered the veggie burger which came with fries that were probably previously frozen. The worst part was my child got upset so I had to leave. My waitress only had only one other table with customers and basically threw the take out containers at my husband and made him box the meals. It took 15 minutes to pay the check with my kid crying in the car. How hard is it to box the meals for us while we pay the check? Overall a horrible experience. We will not be returning.

For 15 years O'Malley's has been our favorite Nofo spot. It's where we would go for birthdays, bring out of town guests and meet up with friends on a sunny weekend. Well no more. Saturday March 7 my husband and I took family visiting from AZ for lunch. We knew Phil had sold and we knew there were changes in store. What we DIDN'T know was that the food would have gone so far downhill. O'Malley's has been known for the freshest, juiciest, tender burgers. All 5 of us ordered burgers. We all ordered the burgers cooked the same - yet they arrived in varying stages of medium to very well done. The burgers were smaller than previous - MAYBE they weighed the same prior to cooking, and the fat ratio is dufferent, but I doubt it. We could have gotten past that - but there is NO getting past the absolutely tasteless, CHEWY, TOUGH meat. I don't think any of us finished our burgers. My usual favorite chili was bland. The fries were barely cooked through. We waited nearly 10 minutes for mustard. The formerly must-have fried vegi platter was a disaster - the broccoli florets have been replaced with some smokey, fake cheese broccoli bits mess... the zucchini now has some heavy, overly seasoned breading.... the corn fritters were still delicious but they were also clearly cooked separately as they were a nice golden brown color while the other veg had been overcooked - FAR past golden. Everything had a "from frozen" taste and feel about it. We would have gladly gotten past the now generic decor - the charm and pub feel is completely gone, the stained glass and dark wood is all but gone, the kitschy moose and irish flags and signs are all gone, replaced by nondescript wall plaques that could have been picked up at Home Goods that hang on now neutral walls. It always comes down to the food and the food was horrible. I was horrified that I was there with guests. I would have been vocal with the management had we not had guests. I am sad to say we will NOT return. We make the drive from Center Moriches to Southold because that's how good the food - and staff - USED to be. Truly sad. OH - Annnd the waitress forgot the onion soup.... annnd the meals came well before we were even half way thru the apps.

I have eaten at O'Mally's under both the old and new management. Although the service was far better under the previous manager, I still found nothing wrong with the restaurant as a whole. After all, I don't need to love my waitress, I need to love the meal! The burger I ordered was juicy and flavorful with good fries, albeit steak fries (not my favorite but no complaints). I tried the salmon my sister ordered on her salad and it was freaking delicious! My only actual complaint would be that my grandmother's cole slaw was served warm, but she still ate it all so I'll let it slide. The interior design of the building is a step up from what it once was. Go try it out if you're in the area. Don't let all of these 1 star reviews scare you away haha.

This Irish joint is under new ownership. Bought by a Greek man named Steve! He gave the place and menu a facelift. Perfect to a midnight meal. :) The owner is such a good and generous host that you want to go back to support him. He makes you feel so welcomed!

My boyfriends father had suggested we to O'Mallys for burgers for lunch however after passing several times and not being impressed, my expectations for O'Mallys were not high. For an appetizer, my boyfriend immediately ordered the corn fritters. As something I've never had before, I have nothing to compare them too. But they were good. And the "saloon sauce" which is really just horseradish sauce they came with made them great! For our entrees, we each ordered a different burgers. My boyfriend with his traditional Saloon Burger, I ventured out tired out to try the Ruben burger. Such a great choice. Both him and I LOVED my burger. Perfect combination and execution. The total bill for us 4 came to around $85. Which is pricey for 4 burger lunches and non alcoholic beverages. BUT if the food is worth it, than it's worth it!! I will absolutely not pass this by again. I'll be back to try more burgers! Don't judge a book by its cover. The establishment will not wow you -- the food will. Side note: the decor is pretty dated but had some funny additions. There was a small table awkwardly placed table in the dinning area with a sign: Worst Table 10% off you bill. Where else do you see that?! Great job guys!

Will not be going back. I am a local, I figured with owner change burgers would at least remain just as good as they've always been. Not quite. I ordered a blue cheese & bacon burger. The burger was so salty I could not eat it. Meat was chewy & burger was cooked whole way through when I asked for medium rare. French fries were WET with grease. Omallys has always has been known for being "the only place to get a decent meal after 10" NO MORE. I called takeout order at 10:15PM on Saturday night: was given an attitude on the phone & then told to wait to see if kitchen was still open WTH!!!!!!!! Where will I get a drunk burger on my way home from greenport? Not at Omallys anymore :( and no I wasn't drunk when I ordered the burger.... But I wish I had been.

Won't be back... to eat at least As a small business owner and local resident, we wanted to support the 'new' owner, Steve, at O'Mally's Southold. After this past week's dining terrible experience, we will NOT be back to dine here. Although we like the very friendly bartenders, Joe & Kevin, we had dinner at the bar last week. I ordered the special, pork chops, and asked for them to be prepared 'slightly pink'. The order was served very well done and I very politely asked for this pricy entree to be reprepared 'slightly pink'. Upon passing this back to owner Steve, he loudly confronted me and rudely said "YOU WANT PORK SERVED RARE???". I was taken back & immediately on the defensive and replied," I don't want it rare, just slightly pink & if your meat is good quality, there shouldn't be any problem here". He wasn't pleased, took it back and I was then served a RARE order of pork chops, WAY undercooked. This was sent back AGAIN and returned WELL DONE AGAIN with cold side dishes. I was fed up, asked for the check which INCLUDED this entree. I had to ask for it to be removed, I wasn't taking the food anyway & left HUNGRY. Went home and had leftovers which were reheated to order. CHANGE YOUR DINER MENTALITY STEVE! SOUTHOLD WILL SUPPORT THOSE THAT DESERVE SUPPORTING!

Want a burger? This is the place. Tons of options but if your looking for a healthy meal it's slim pickins. Food is great just not a ton of options. Wait staff is ok. But for big groups they get a little flustered. Great for a quick bite and a standard no frills burger. If you like French onion soup they got you covered. Not the best burgers I've had, but the atmosphere is cozy old school pub-ish and the owner is super nice and friendly.

Very dated even though it's only been open about 15 years. The staff is not knowledgable at all, they don't know the specials or the menu at all. I have been there a few times and not once have I had a reason to return even though I did. Today I had the seafood platter which was pretty decent but the waitress said they don't have cocktail sauce with you have to have if your serving shrimp. I asked if they have horseradish which they did and they have catsup and lemons so there you go, cocktail sauce. I won't be back, the place is always empty, I know why.

The burgers are delicious. . . .you can't really go wrong. MY favorite is the reuben burger. Just be warned, the cheddar is a processed cheddar sauce, not sliced cheddar cheese. I always get my fries well done with a side of their Texas sauce. It's awesome. The fried fish sandwich is also delicious, as are the wings and corn fritters. Certainly it's nothing fancy, but it's yummy food, served quick at reasonable prices.

Veggie burger is very good! I don't eat meat so can't judge on the regular burgers.... fries are good and onion rings are good - the place is nice and cozy during the winter months is when I go usually to this restaurant or on late nights since they are open late!

I've been to O'Mally's twice now. I kind of stumbled upon it by accident when I was bumming around Orient Point. And then this second time I went on purpose b/c I wanted to share it with the man I've been seeing, since we are both burger lovers. The first time I went on a Saturday night, and they sat me in a little nook out of the way, which was nice since I was alone. Despite that I still had a very large table. The food was great! Very tasty, large portions. I needed to bring at least half of everything home. Most important, my burger was cooked as I like it. I often steer clear from ordering burgers b/c restaurants wont take the time to cook my 'very well done' burger. It's just the way I like 'em. :) But I took the chance and they delivered: it was cooked all the way through and no pink! The second visit was a litle bit different. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, who wasnt as friendly when we asked to switch tables. The restaurant was half empty, but still she sat us as one of the two worst tables they have in the house. You might ask, 'how would you know whether a table is the worst or not?' The reason I know this is b/c across the room from our table was an identical small table with a sign above it that said 'worst table in the house, 10% off your bill.' It's a joke of the restaarant. Our table was near identical and teeny. We were also squished in near a large party with many edgy, bored, loud children who were running around... Between the screaming kids, the wall our table was pushed right up against and the huge moosehead hanging above us it felt very claustrophobic. When we asked to switch tables, the hostess said, "No, b/c you've already placed an appetizer order and it would mess things up with the server.' I was not happy about this, especially given the restaurant was half empty. I was considering leaving, but then we had the idea to ask the server directly, and she was extremely accomodating. From there the experience greatly improved! We had a lovely table away from the kiddies, with plenty of room for our food and drinks. For an appetizer we shared the nachos- they were very tasty and the portion was large. They dont skimp on the cheese and chili like some other places do, although I do think they are skimpy with the salsa, sour cream sides and we had to ask special for the guacamole, since it doesnt normally come with it. We both got nearly the same burgers: cheddar, bacon, BBQ. The cheddar they use is liquidy, which is not my favorite, but it was very good! And again they delivered on the cooking- my burger was very well done! We both had to bring half of our burgers home, b/c we were stuffed from the nachos. Their big specialty, and 'claim to fame' if you will, is the extensive burger menu. I enjoy reading all the different options and seeing their creativity at work. Their 'alien burger' is a hotdog! which tickles my funnybone. :) I really like this place! It's about 10-15 minutes from Orient Point and I think it's a great option after spending a day at the beach or watching the sunset! (sidenote: just dont go to Orient Point State Beach to watch that sunset, b/c they kick you out at 8pm, regardless, and even earlier in the Fall.)

We decided to stop at OMallys on our way back from the ferry on the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. We expected a crowd, which there was. We only waited a few minutes for a table and promptly placed our order, as we had some hungry children with us. After 45 minutes of waiting for an order that consisted mostly of hamburgers, we inquired as to where our food was. The waiter said they had a big crowd and were backed up. Then 10 minutes later he told us they were out of chicken fingers, so my son had to order something else. (At this point it became clear that he had forgotten to put our order in, but he made up a story instead of telling us the truth and apologizing) 15 minutes more and still no food, we asked to see a manager, no one came, and then they started bussing our table as if we were done. When I told them we had not eaten yet, they were rude and said they thought we were leaving. We then decided we were. I still asked to speak to a manager and he was very unapologetic. I will never go back again.

Quick to accommodate a large party (16) unexpectedly late on a Saturday night, O'Mally's is a great choice when you have a group that includes the very hungry, not so hungry, thirsty, sort of thirsty, apathetic, lively, tired, and everything in between. The menu's specialty is definitely its burgers as it dedicates a full page to them, including a "special" for $75. Ask, and you'll see the price is negotiable. If you're really tired, you may not realize that it's a joke. Meals actually average around $15. Properly equipped with a full bar to accommodate all sorts of palettes, there should be something available for everyone, including local wines and beers. Being someone who was in between in terms of hunger, I ordered a grilled cheese from the kids menu and it was fine. I'd eat it again. Everyone else who ordered food had tasty looking burgers and enjoyed them. One person with a mushroom burger did not love the mushrooms but the meat itself was said to be fine. The atmosphere is dark but depending on the company, O'Mally's can certainly liven up (did you see there's an animal head on the wall?). The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, and more than willing to accommodate. Bring some friends and have some fun.

Burgers are very good. Good meat and well prepped. Corn fritters are good as well. It's dark and somewhat dingy. It would be nice if they freshened it up.

It's one of our all time favorite spots to have a good meal, we order out at least 2-3 times a month if we cant get there to dine in. Prices are reasonable and the food is always consistent. Staff is always friendly and helpful. can't say enough about the place except... Go There you wont be disappointed.
